Staff Nursing's Gary and Ruth were delighted to be invited to share the experience as CQ BID Delivers Final Public Defibrillator Achieving 200-Metre Coverage Across Cathedral Quarter.
[Press release by Cathedral Quarter Belfast Business Improvement District (BID)]
"Cathedral Quarter BID (CQ BID) has installed its final public-access defibrillator (AED), ensuring that no one in the Cathedral Quarter is more than 200 metres from a life-saving device. Accessible 24/7, the new AED, located outside Direct Wine Shipments at Corporation Square, strengthens emergency preparedness for businesses, employees, and visitors.
Sudden cardiac arrest can happen without warning, and rapid access to an AED dramatically increases survival chances. CQ BID has strategically placed devices across the district and provided extensive training, with 158 people trained specifically in AED use and 362 staff trained in first aid, compliance, and management development.
CQ BID’s completed AED network also demonstrates the success of its 5-year strategic business commitment to a Safer, Clearer, Greener Cathedral Quarter (2021–2026), which has been delivering practical initiatives that make the Cathedral Quarter safer for everyone."
They are truly going above and beyond to ensure Belfast continues to thrive, while supporting the safety and wellbeing of everyone in the area.
